Let's Go (guide) Europe

Bruce Arena thinks Americans playing in Europe bring more confidence and professionalism to the U.S. Men's National Team. Take that to mean all the European-based players for Wednesday's friendly against Poland have a decent shot of making the team when the rosters are due May 23.

Bruce also has a pretty good handle on the importance soccer fans place on the World Cup:

Americans like a winner. They see very little positives in results that don’t translate in to wins and championships. That is just our mentality, which is a little skewed because of our sports of American football, basketball and baseball. The American public does not fully appreciate the magnitude of the World Cup and how competitive this event truly is.

Also of note, in the same interview, Bruce pops the balloon of Manchester United's Rossi playing for the U.S.

Giuseppe Rossi is beginning to make an impact at Manchester United. Despite United signing him from Parma I believe he was actually raised in the USA. What chance do you have of getting him to commit to representing the USA?

The player has expressed an interest in playing for Italy. Therefore, we will respect his decision.

And finally, Bruce says he hears the siren call of the EPL.

I do have aspirations to coach in Europe. I would love to have an opportunity to manage in the Premiership.

So, if Bruce wants players from there, and he wants to coach there, why can’t the MLS start sending its best players there? See 'Dear MLS' below.
