FIFA ticket fiasco

Something tells me FIFA's ticketing change for this year's World Cup could leave empty seats, angry fans and profiteering in high gear.

It's explained here.

``Thousands of people are floating around with tickets for matches they'd prefer not to attend,'' Grant Brown, who founded ticketswapshop.com to help fans trade tickets, said in a telephone interview. ``If they want to swap for another game, the door is closed.''

Many of those tickets will be returned to FIFA shortly before the tournament kicks off June 9, according to John Parker of Byrom Plc, FIFA's ticketing agent.
