Guus Hiddink has taken Australia to its first World Cup in 32 years. As a reward, he will next get to manage Russia, the fourth country he has coached. He managed the Dutch side and the South Koreans.
Still, he has one more to go to match Bora's record.
Bora Milutinovic, who coached the U.S. in the 94 cup, is he only person to have coached five different teams at the World Cup: Mexico (1986), Costa Rica (1990), the U.S. (1994), Nigeria (1998), and China (2002). He is also the first coach to take four different teams beyond the first round (all the above except China). He was coach of Honduras for a brief spell in 2004.
Oh and lest we forget....
Milutinovic coached the MetroStars of Major League Soccer to the worst record in league history in 1999.
They are called the Red Bulls now, Guss, but don't be fooled.
